Yes......he's been highly touted for the last couple of years & certainly didn't disappoint at the jr varsity level. He'll play a lot as a soph,
but Leroy Jones is too good of a runner to not play. Should be a 2 headed monster....

I thought Marshall did a great job against Texas High in Tyler last year. That said, it should be a real tough district race this coming fall. One thing that might happen is a team besides Texas High, Longview, or Marshall could be a surprise. Could that be SS or even Hallsville? I do not know. Both Longview, Texas High and Marshall are very tough at home. I see Longview has already made the Texas High game their Green Out game. Oh boy, that is going to be tough to start the district...

Texas High's offense should be loaded for bear. Returning QB now with experience that can run, last year's all district RB, plus an up & coming RB that's being touted as probably the best to ever come through here. 2 returning WRs and a solid vet OL averaging in the 290 range. Offense should roll. Defense is the weak link. That will determine how it shakes out. Just need 1 or 2 key pieces to step up & I'm hearing the chances are good.

What is scary to me is the fact that last year was a rebuilding year for Txh. THSFan noted it was the weakest team they had fielded in six years and it took a SERIOUSLY HEROIC 20 point come-from-behind effort by Marshall to steal a playoff win. What happens when Texas High returns to form???

I hate to say anything because it may draw an ugly response from a SS fan, but I do agree with you . IMO SS is overhyped. Yes they had a nice team. Yes they beat us last year (we were the weakest we've been in 6 years). They beat us on their home field, playing an almost flawless game. Texas High did not play their best game and still had the ball inside the 5 late in the game. I'm not trying to down the Wildcats at all...they were undefeated district champs, but I'd be absolutely...

I definately could be wrong, but I think SS was overhyped. Their schedule was weak and they squeaked out wins each week, save their blow-out of North Lamar which everyone blew out last year. Yes, they beat Texas High but they were WAAAAY down last year. I don't see them continuing to play that poorly. I think that it will come down to TH, LV, and Marshall. Any of the three are district champion possibilities. Of course SS may be too, but I just don't think that a 1 player team will be...

Ok I've been playing this out in my head from the moment I heard the news of Longview moving down to 4a. Initially I was like most people, handing the lobos the title already but then I got to thinking about how things were. When Marshall and l-view were in the same district, all the games were pretty close, always being decided in the final moments. It's not that marshall has lost any talent or depth, it's just the timing of playing longview the first game or 2nd game was to much...
