The new district that Marshall is in is going to be super tough. I like the new district. Good luck to the other teams that went in the southern district.
A little surprised Lindale stayed up . |

Yep, pretty much how I figured. Kinda surprised Sulphur Springs stayed east. Gonna be a killer district with Marshall, Longview and Texas High not to mention
SS is going to be tough too. Might be a long couple of seasons for Hallsville, PT and MP.

Texas High, Marshall, Longview, and Sulphur Springs all together........ Remember..... SS was 10-0 last season and was one of the most pass happy teams in the state of Texas in ALL CLASSIFICATIONS in 2007. Lobos will dominate in football. I hate to say it. But hard to deny they won't. I am GRATEFUL to be out of Whitehouse and Nac's district for basketball and Soccer..... they are the class of East Texas in any classification in both. I like this district......but it's a tough one. All turf fields with the exception of SS. I think Texas High is having it installed..... so that means everyone will have it but SS. Besides.... Texarkana had one of the best grass fields in the state. UIL spared us from some of the worst stadiums in 4A by avoiding Henderson, WH, and Lindale...... and the visitor's side of the Tomato Bowl in Jax. MP has a GREAT new place. I think any Longview or Mav fan that wants to go the hour or so drive will get a seat. Hallsville will be a tight squeeze. But you can always sit on their home side. We did last year. Unless they are winning, in that case......Cat fans pack it out. PT and Longview need to work on a home/road thing with Lobo Stadium. If I never saw PT stadium again I'd be fine with it. SS will be a challenege. But I think the long drive will enable most Lobo (and Mav fans) that want to go to get a seat. Casual fans won't be making that drive. I like it. Scary.....but I like it. We will get the other East Texas district in the first round of the playoffs......so no driving for the first round. Second round would be most likely the Waco schools provided they beat the Red Oak/Terrell/Lancaster district. Ennis is in there too. Third round would be DISD schools (Carter). Fourth would be HIGHLAND PARK/Sherman/Mckinney/Frisco Fifth round will be Region I with Aledo, Stephenville, Denton Ryan, Frenship Wol. State title games.... La Marque, Consolidated, Lake Travis, Brenham, PNG, Gregory Portland, Boerne, etc... What do you think fans?????? |

Even though I hated dropping down, I'm glad that we at least get to rejoin Marshall, THS, and PT again. We just need to get Nacogdoches back in and we'll be set. |

I do not think Longview will dominate in Football. Remember that when MArshall dropped to 4A, everyone said the same. People are moving out of Longview and
into the surrounding communities and it is taking talent with them. I think things will even up with all the teams wuickly. I know that SS with have a heck
of a team this year, their QB Rollison is ranked as a top 10 player int he state and thru for 3,500 yards last year. Should be fun, also MP has great
facilities.
