first of all thats not what you said....you said, "history says the district will catch up with them."
I don't think there is a Lobo fan out there that would disagree that Longview's district for the last 4 years has been remotely as competitive as the old 12-5A. Do you think the Lobos have played their best football the last 4 years, or do you think they played better football when they were in the incredibly tough 12-5A? Why is that? Could it POSSIBLY be that district play leveled off for Longview, Lee, and JT to the competition of Mesquite, Horn, etc? I'm not saying it's FACT.....I'm asking
no we did not start playing down to our competition. in 2004 and 2005 Longview was very talented with Ivory and Mcgee and we steamrolled every team it seems EXCEPT for Rockwall. 2006 and 2007 we were not near as talented and didnt have any D1 athletes on offense(and very few on defense) and still managed to win district and make good playoff runs. That is a result of good coaching and these players working hard and they earned every bit of it.
and I dont see any Lobo fan who knows what they are talking about bragging about us not losing to any team in district. I have said time again that Marshall and T High will compete with us but outside of that I dont think we will see much competition in district.
