DISCLAIMER: This is only my opinion!!!
I don't think moving him up to varsity would be a good idea right now. The Maverick infield is stacked so that when one of them needs to pitch, another player can fill that postion without losing anything on defense. Sitting the bench to wait his turn would be time better spent at getting playing time with the stronger JV team.
With that being said, the varsity could probably use him the next three weekends or so while they go to tournaments. They can always use another pitching arm in those tourneys. But I really don't see him getting moved up and taking over somebody's spot right now. This is solely based on the things that I've seen in the six or eight practices and couple of scrimmages I've been able to attend.

The thing is that the coach has told him and the team were told that if they move him up, it would not be to sit the bench. HE has pitched to the Varsity in intra squad a few times and nobody has gotten a hit off him and at the plate he has ripped the varsity pitchers. Hammock has told the varsity that he is going to take someone's job very soon. I am a realist and do not want him to move up to the varsity to just sit the bench, he needs to be playing to get experiance. But he has been assured that if he is moved up, it would be to play. If you go to practice of watch a JV game, watch Chandler, he has the size and ability to be a high draft pick as a SR. Many that have watched him said he has reminded them as a young AROD. Chandler has always played SS but his size has made it to where he had to move to 3rd. He is also tough on the mnd. Not many 15 year olds can thro 4 different pitches, with control, and in the mid 80's. I do not want to rush him, but if he is ready, I am all for the move..
