OK Mav fans. Most of us know about all the improvements done at Maverick Stadium the last few years.
The new P.A. system is probably the most appreciated by the fans, as we now have one of the best around. Not to mention the new scoreboard, which was LONG
overdue. New play clocks were installed last season. The turf has eliminated mud bowls. During the offseason a new track has been laid and it looks
fantastic. The old booster building has been replaced.
So let's make a wish list for future improvements.
Here we go:
1. Expand the homeside so that the band, Mavettes, and pep squad can be on the home side.
2. The asphault/concrete under the stadium and the walkway from the stadium to the gates needs to be replaced
3. How about sprucing up the entrances to the stadium. Brick and wrought iron or something
4. Improved concession and restroom areas.
5. How about some red and white flags at the top of the home and visitors sides.... Texas High and Lufkin do this and it looks GREAT. Back in the day....
they had flags of all colors of district opponents on the East wall of the stadium....... if not of our district opps, then how about red and white flags there
too..... all the way across the wall.
Personally.....I think MISD should consider a ticket shuffle. I'm sure it would make some ppl mad, but I think it would be great to shake things up. It
bothers me that sections A, B, D, and E can be practiaclly full......but section C.... attendance is iffy. If ppl with those tickets aren't going to show
up, I think they should let other ppl sit there. Section C has the most "no shows" of any section. Shame on them. Just my own personal opinion.
Any more ideas out there?

I agree about expanding the home side. It wouldnt take a very large addition to move the band/mavettes/etc over and opening up that section to visitors. That
would make Maverick Stadium one of the more accomodating visitors seating around. Another good point is the concessions/restrooms. They are HORRIBLE ...
It's embarrassing. Those two items would make a huge difference but a little sprucing up elsewhere would be nice too. About the ticket shuffle
idea....NOOOO!! I've had my season tickets for years and love the location, halfway up on the east 40 yard line. I do like the idea of a seperate
visitor's locker room with the visiting team coming out from that side instead of both teams entering/exiting the field from the same area.

How about putting red box seats in the middle of the home stands, and install an elavator that goes to the pressbox so the handicap can get to their seats
eaiser.

I agree with AM 1991. Put the red fold down seats in the middle two sections that currently have the bleachers with backs. Take the bleachers with backs and
use them to replace the bleachers in the other two sections. In the red fold down stadium seats place white seats to form one large M pattern in the seats.
