Just one final point as I have said, and everyone in Marshall that knows me, knows I cut nobody any slack when I evaluate a kid, relative or not. But this was
not said as a secert, to just the team, etc. It was in OPEN practice as loud as you can hear from the fieldhouse to the BB field. In front of parents, fans,
the team, etc.. I will not go on with this as you know everything and me as a all-state FB player, College football player, College Football coach, HS FB
coach and asst HS BB coach, etc knows nothing. Again, was just giving the Mav fans some info on a kid that will have a very bright future for the Mavs..

Ok this is getting a bit ridiculous, I've always been a straight foward guy, and if I don't come out and say it then I'm not thinking it. I am not
insulting your intelligence or talent for evaluating players, nor am I saying I know everything and that you don't know anything. No I am entitled to my
opinion as well as you are so I am calling a truce on this issue. I am just as excited to see your nephew become a star and maximize his potential. Also
don't try to throw out the fact of what you are and have been athletics, you don't know the levels I've played on and will coach on, I'm
younger than you and thats about it, division 1 in 2 sports and I will be in the coaching ranks soon enough as soon as complete my obligations to the military
as an officer. I applaud your acheivements as a coach and player, but I frown upon your ability to comprehend the messages that I have composed in their
entirety, from beginning to end. I'm sure you'll like what I wrote in bold print in the topics that I've started. I will say again as I did in my
previous post, I have never said a negative word about your nephew. As you can see the pitching for the mavs has looked good, 2 to 3 pitchers a game and
I've yet to see them be anything less than exceptional. But I do see one area where your nephew if he could do it, help the varsity and thats with his bat,
in maybe a DH role because they have not produced alot of offensive pressure untill the late innings. Good luck to you and your nephew and upon arrival from
Iraq in the next month I will be hitting the road to check the mavs out, I've only been able to see some low quality video tape of the games so far in my
e-mail.

Marshallnewsmessenger.com has done an exceptional job with keeping up with mav athletics, they keep me posted on anything and everything that I enquire about
with the mavs. I've been in Iraq for 6 months and I must say I was a bit fearful of not being able to keep up with the mavs but thanks to
marshallnewsmessenger.com. Also the people I talked to after every game have also done a great job with providing accurate testimonials about the events that
took place.

CCRider wrote: Heck, I wrote that thing off a long time ago. Besides, team I cover here is green and white. Good thing I have some green stuff left from when I covered
Harleton games. LOL. I'm such an unabashed homer (unless two local teams are playing each other), that I always tried to wear the official T-shirt, or at
least the colors of the team I was there covering. I guess I'll always be a mom first, sportswriter second.
I really hope the Mavs have a great season. Pitchers and catchers report here on March 25 (season is later because the baseball diamond is under 5 feet of
snow!). Town expects this team to make the state tourney this year. Supposedly they're crazy good. Football is pretty big here, but not like Texas.
Baseball is probably as popular as football here. Anyway, I just can't wait till I can dig out my scorebook and sling chair and cover a dang game. I'm
going nuts here without any sports. Basketball is over, baseball is still a month away! So all there is to cover here is skiiing.
). My son has taken up
snowboarding. He's a natural.
Miss you guys! Tell everyone at the baseball field I said "Hi! " By the way, any one know how Joe Martino is doing? |

Joe is doing great. Passed his checkup the other day and is not scheduled back for 3 months I think... I'll tell him you asked.
