I know district is just getting started but I was curious as to where all the 4a playoff games are played. Marshall has played plenty of them in the past few
years at the 4a level so what fields did you have games at?

If we do make playoffs this year our possible first round opponents would be Kilgore, Lindale, Henderson or Jacksonville. The only 3 stadiums that really make
sense for these games would be Rose, Lobo & SFA. Now looking even further ahead, the 2nd round games would be vs. districts 15/16 which include centex
teams like ennis, waco, corsicana, terrell, etc. That opens the possibilites up a little more.

I guess you all heard about the new Highland Park Rule. The UIL desides the venue for all State Championship Game for all classifications. |

I would like to see District 13-4a and District 14-4a do a double header at one venue. Do it on the Saturday of the first playoff weekend. Be a great day of
football. Homer Bryce might be a good spot, but if Nac is in the playoff picture it would give them a home field advantage so to speak. Rose Stadium would be
my pick. The improvements they have made a Rose makes this a great place to watch football. But then, it would give Whitehouse an edge or Lindale an edge on
crowd.
Here is another venue, play it out of state. Take the game to Independence Stadium in Shreveport. I went a few years back and watched Texas High beat Highland Park at Indy Stadium. Enjoyed it big time. Maybe it was the fact that this Mav fan saw HP get beat for a change. |
