As far as what should we expect, I've talked to some of the players and the term they are using is "scrappy". When asked to elaborate, they just keep saying they will be scrappy.

As far as who to watch for: The Mavs will be young this year. Just trying to remember from last year. Tyler O'Bryant, Chase Dotson, J.R. Oden and William Grinstead will be the only Seniors on the team with varsity experience. (I know I probably forgot somebody, don't shoot me just because I'm getting old). Beau Bayliss, Brandon Fitzgerald and P.J. Talley should be the only returning Juniors with varsity playing time (I think). 4 seniors and 3 juniors returning leaves a LOT of room for somebody to move up off the JV teams and make a big impact. I hope it will happen.

Another win last night as My nephew Chandler Hancock went 5 inning on the mound as the MAvs won 5-2 over Coppers COve. They had won 12-11 eariler in the day against Killeen Ellison. MAvs off to a 3-0 star and play Gatesville today at 10:30..

Way to Go Mavs! Another win! Good job to your nephew. In the first game yesterday I heard JR Oden, Tyler OBryant and Beau Bayliss all hit homeruns. Also, Chase Dotson pitched most of that 1st game.

Mavs split a pair to start the Nac Tourney yesterday. Lost to Hudson in a tough 1-0 game( Mavs had beaten Hudson last week 10-9) and then beat Carthage 8-6. They play today.

Mavs now 9-2 on the year.

also, starting Thrus the Mavs will host part of the 2009 Reich Builders Classic that will be played in Marshall, Hallsville and Henderson.

Mavs play Thursday at 2:30 in Marshall against Liberty-Eylau

Then play Thursday at 5 against Spring Hill

Friday Mavs play at 5 against Carthage

Sat MAvs play at 2:30 against Pleasant Grove.
