Member Posts: 1 11/20/07 18:22:57	Tags : None I remember one of the reasons used to get turf at the stadium was to host more playoff games. Not counting the Mavs home game 2 years ago, I only remember 3(?) playoff games during this time. I know EF played Hooks one year; went to that one. Didn't Liberty E. play one? And the last one was 2 dots on the road that I can't remember and was not really advertised. So, why no playoff games at the stadium? Rent to high? Marshall just not in the middle of 2 towns with playoff teams? Thanks

Member Posts: 339 11/21/07 15:50:04	Grad is right, they stripped the old track surface the Saturday after the Kilgore game. They have been laying the new surface on the track and the d-zones. Marshall will host the district track meet this coming spring.

Member Posts: 652 11/23/07 00:39:38	Last season there were 3 games at Maverick Stadiumin one weekend. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I know in the last few seasons Carthage has played in Marshall several times. So has Spring Hill..... and I belive Garrison has played there a time or two. I think it's driven more by geography than anything. Being in the corner like we are..... unless we are somewhere in the middle, the chances are that the teams won't play in Marshall. But when Carthage played here, I know they loved it.... as did the Spring Hill fans. Both travelled very well. I want to say the Garrison-Troup game was well attended as well.
